Shift Leader

We are seeking a motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Shift Leader. This part-time position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options and availability on weekends. As a Shift Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations during your assigned shifts. You will be responsible for leading and supervising a team to uphold Nothing Bundt Cakes Purpose and Values.

Responsibilities and Expectations

1. Supervise and motivate team members to achieve daily goals and objectives during all scheduled shifts. Displays leadership abilities and Nothing Bundt Cakes core values daily. Guides staff in service standards, crafting orders, and maintaining frosting pars.

2. Consistently follows the S.W.E.E.T Steps of Service and encourages all Joy Creators to do the same. Expert level Joy Creator. Anticipates guests needs and builds genuine connections. Resolves guest complaints in bakery, as well as responding to phone and G.I.F.T. complaints as needed.

3. Oversee day-to-day operations in the absence of Lead Operator and Assistant Manager to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency. Responsible for crafting all orders, supporting Joy Creators, and keeping all positions on task. Able to assist in frosting with bundtlets, rounds, and making frosting batches. Opening/Closing registers and accurate cash handling procedures as outlined in POS Procedures. Confirming all pars are met at the end of the day and the opening shift is set up for success. Signing off on closing checklists for all positions.

4. Lead trainer for Joy Creators and Crafters. Provide ongoing coaching for all team members. Responsible for leading Working Interviews alongside managers. Shift leaders are self-starters who ask for ongoing training and cross-training into new positions.

5. Address any issues or concerns that arise during shifts promptly and effectively. Knows where to find the answers to guest and team member questions and who to contact for any issue.

6. Shift Leaders can receive and check-in Sysco, Shipp, and retail orders according to operational guidelines and can file invoices appropriately. Uses proper FIFO method for storing product, orders, and case cakes.

7. Maintains cleanliness and organization standards according to company standards. Participates in daily cleaning duties per position checklists.

8. Serves as a liaison between team members and management. Brings team concerns, comments, and behavioral issues to management. Does not engage in workplace gossip and is trusted by management with higher level information. Contributes to discussions about staffing, training, and staff meeting planning. Utilizes communication log to share relevant information to management about their shifts.

Requirements

1. Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred but not required.

2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

5. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory management.

6. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

7. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.

8. Commitment to upholding company standards and values.

9. Must be dependable, punctual, and reliable and keep reliable transportation.

Compensation: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
