Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Pediatric Research Center, McGovern Medical School

This position will work in the Trainor Lab in the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Research Center . The Pediatric Research Center is home to wide-ranging research focused on identifying the causes of birth defects with the ultimate goal of developing prevention and treatment strategies. A postdoctoral research fellow would design and perform experiments to investigate how genetic and environmental disruptions affect neural crest cell development, using model organisms such as mice and zebrafish to study craniofacial and enteric nervous system formation. Daily work would also include analyzing developmental phenotypes, interpreting molecular and cellular data, and contributing to manuscripts on congenital disorders such as Treacher Collins syndrome and Hirschsprung’s disease. Minimum Education Doctoral/Terminal Degree Physical Requirements Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
