About the Position

Job Title: Transplant Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of strong transplant experience, including kidney and liver experience. License: Must have Indiana license, temporary license, or compact license by start date. Certifications: BLS, Regulatory Charting for Transplants Must-Have: - Transplant experience - Call requirement: 40-60 hours per 6-week period - Float requirement: Must float to multi-specialty and all surgeries Description: This position involves providing nursing care in the operating room with a focus on transplant surgeries, specifically abdominal transplants such as kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral. Candidates must have a strong background in transplant nursing, particularly with kidney and liver procedures. Nurses will be expected to assist in a variety of surgical procedures and have the ability to float to different specialties as required. Weekend shifts may be required, and nurses must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. This role is suited for both experienced RNs and first-time travelers with substantial transplant experience. Special procedures in the unit primarily involve abdominal transplants. The facility does not accommodate local residents for this position. Candidates must provide two to three days of interview availability upon submission. References from two supervisors are required.
