Job Title: IT Systems & Security Specialist

\nPixels On Target is a non-traditional defense contractor building technology for customers in MIL/GOV/LE. We move fast like a commercial team, while meeting the security and compliance expectations that come with supporting our customers.
\n \nWe’re hiring a hands-on IT Systems & Security Specialist to design, secure, and continuously improve our internal IT environment: endpoints, identity, networking, collaboration platforms, and compliance evidence.
\n \nThis Role requires
\n- \n
- IT security & compliance execution : implement controls, policies, and evidence collection aligned to CMMC readiness (e.g., practices associated with NIST SP 800-171), and keep the program operational. \n
- Secure identity and access across Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/SharePoint: \n
- MFA, SSO, conditional access, least privilege, privileged access workflows \n
- Joiner/mover/leaver automation and access reviews \n
- Harden and manage endpoints (Windows/macOS/Linux as applicable): \n
- MDM (Intune/Jamf/other), patching, configuration baselines \n
- EDR/AV, disk encryption, device compliance, secure remote access \n
- Design and secure networking for an SME environment: \n
- Firewalls, VLANs, VPN/zero-trust access, Wi-Fi security, DNS/email security \n
- Vendor/ISP coordination and reliable site operations \n
- Build strong operational hygiene : \n
- Asset inventory, vulnerability management, logging/monitoring, incident response \n
- Backups, disaster recovery, business continuity testing \n
- Create audit-ready documentation : \n
- Security policies/procedures, diagrams, system inventories, evidence binders \n
- Manage POA&Ms and track remediation to closure \n
- Be the go-to security partner for the business: \n
- Risk assessments for new tools/vendors \n
- Security awareness and “secure-by-default” enablement \n
Required qualifications
\n- \n
- 5+ years in hands-on IT infrastructure + security roles (SME environment strongly preferred) \n
- Proven experience securing Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/SharePoint (admin-level) \n
- Strong fundamentals in: \n
- IAM (MFA, RBAC, least privilege), endpoint management, networking, logging/monitoring \n
- Experience building security documentation and operating a compliance program (CMMC/NIST-style controls, SSP/POA&M concepts, audit prep) \n
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and drive work to closure \n
Nice to have
\n- \n
- Direct experience with CMMC assessments and coordinating third-party audits \n
- Familiarity with defense-adjacent requirements (e.g., handling CUI, DFARS-adjacent workflows) \n
- SIEM experience, email security, DLP, CASB, scripting/automation (PowerShell/Python) \n
- Security certifications (Security+, SSCP, CISSP, CISM, CCSP) or equivalent experience \n
U.S. Person / Clearance Eligibility:
\nThis role requires U.S. Person status under ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62). This job may require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
