Field Tester Mendon / Logan, UT

As a Field Tester, you will be responsible for the remote operation, calibration, testing, and deployment of semi-autonomous and autonomous robotic systems. This role combines robotics, software quality assurance, field testing, operations management, and training responsibilities. The successful candidate will help shape the design, development, calibration, testing, and deployment of advanced robotic solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and productivity across multiple industries.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment manually, through tele-operations, semi-autonomously, and autonomously to evaluate and improve system performance, functionality, and reliability.
• Maintain a safe testing and deployment environment by following company safety standards, industry regulations, and site-specific safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering, program, and testing teams to understand operational requirements, use cases, and testing objectives.
• Design and execute test plans to validate engineering and customer requirements.
• Document inspections, test procedures, results, findings, and maintenance activities with clear and accurate reporting.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Calibrate, diagnose, and troubleshoot robotic systems and equipment.
• Configure test environments and test tracks that simulate real-world operating conditions.
• Demonstrate system safety, effectiveness, and suitability for internal teams and customers.
• Work closely with engineers, software developers, technical writers, trainers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist in developing training materials and curriculum for robotic systems.
• Deliver vehicle-specific and robot-specific training to team members and customers.
• Perform on-site system configuration, calibration, acceptance testing, and customer training activities.

Required Qualifications:

• 5–7 years of experience working with heavy equipment across various industries.
• Strong leadership experience, preferably in an Operations Manager or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience operating and evaluating heavy equipment and autonomous systems is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments for 6–10 hours per day.
• Ability to enter and exit equipment approximately 10 times per day.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, and reach while installing, testing, and inspecting equipment.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in varying weather conditions and uneven terrain.
• Ability to document activities using a laptop and mobile device throughout the workday.
• Ability to identify and respond to safety risks and environmental conditions.
• Ability to perform essential job functions while exposed to environmental allergens and fluctuating
