You are asked to join a team that is changing the world. As a Qualified Electrical Technician at Panasonic Energy, you will work in De Soto, Kansas at the world’s largest lithium‑ion battery factory and help build sustainable transportation solutions. Responsibilities Job Summary: The Qualified Electrical Technician (QET) supports Electrical Engineering activities such as testing, check‑out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electrical systems. The technician performs zero‑volt verifications and panel inspections to ensure critical safety functions within a high‑volume manufacturing environment. Duties include: Perform QET and electrical preventive maintenance for 24/7 plant operations. Support breaker resets, Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO) confirmation, and Zero Vault Verification (ZVV) checks. Conduct regularly scheduled electrical system maintenance and tool operation. Analyse schematics, diagrams, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting. Identify and correct grounding and bonding issues, improve cable management, and secure connections. Assist with cable and wire pulls, conduit installation, and routing. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering during planned shutdowns and troubleshooting. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, QET requirements, and company policies. Physical Demands Walk 45%, stand 45%, sit 10% of the workday. Lift up to 10 lbs: occasional; 20 lbs: occasional; 35 lbs: occasional; team‑lift over 35 lbs: occasional. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience. 5+ years of electrical technician experience in manufacturing or industrial settings. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical control systems up to 480 VAC. Strong knowledge of electrical hardware, schematics, wiring diagrams, and SOPs. Understanding of industrial machinery design and safety regulations (NEC, NFPA 70E; must pass NFPA 70E exam and obtain CEST certification). Ability to work 12‑hour day or night shifts in support of 24/7 operations. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Documentation skills and working‑level English proficiency. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of electrical technician experience. Familiarity with wiring, cabling, grounding, shielding, terminations, and load/temperature requirements. Knowledge of ISA standards and symbology. Experience working in hazardous locations (Class I, Division 2). Experience with 480 VAC panel installation. Education, Certifications & Licenses Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or similar. Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. PECNA approved Technical Training. Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification.
