Dietary Aide

Summer Special ~ Up to $1K Sign-on Bonus!Ensure and enhance the health and well-being of our Residents by serving and assisting with preparation of nutritious meals and snacks according to each Resident's individual requirements and care plan.Dietary FunctionsImplements menus for regular and special diets, following interventions in resident care plansCooks and serves breakfast, serves lunch, supper, coffee and snacks to ResidentsRecords food and other temperatures related to food safety as required by state and federal regulationsLoads and operates commercial dishwashers, monitoring and recording correct equipment temperaturesCleans dining rooms and sculleries, maintaining a sanitary and orderly work environmentWashes and refills water pitchers from resident roomsMay assist in transporting Residents to and from activitiesAssists with setup for special occasions and eventsFollows all routines and procedures related to food safety, infection control, and dress codeFollows standard precautions and works within OSHA guidelinesImmediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect of Residents per facility policyReports any equipment malfunction to the designated staff memberPersonnel FunctionsAttends designated staff meetings as scheduledDevelops and maintains a good working relationship with other staff, whether within the dietary department or inter-departmental personnelCompletes assigned training in a timely mannerUtilizes materials and supplies in an efficient, cost-effective mannerRemains free of criminal conviction that may preclude employment in the nursing home setting (including but not limited to theft, battery, assault)Reports any pending criminal or civil charges or matters to the Administrator by the next business dayAlways represents the United Pioneer Home in a positive manner unless contraindicated by lawLearns and follows fire and other work safety policiesFollows all facility policies and proceduresFollows the direction of the Dietary Manager, Administrator and/or Director of NursingPerforms other duties as qualified for and as directedQualificationsAble to communicate fluently in written and spoken EnglishAble to follow directions and recipes, and to read labels and instructionsMinimum age 16Other Skills and Abilities RequiredDemonstrated concern for the elderly and ability to treat Residents with respect and dignityAbility to maintain the strict confidentiality of Resident information, per HIPAA regulationsStrong time management and teamwork skillsAbility to prioritize duties and to understand and follow work assignmentsAbility to understand and follow interventions in Resident diets and care plansCustomer service orientedAdequate strength and endurance to operate commercial dishwashersAbility to work as scheduled and adapt to changes in bi-weekly work schedulePhysical RequirementsAbility to endure prolonged walking, sitting, standing, use of pulling, and stooping movements for up to 8 hours per shiftAble to bend, squat, and do repetitive shoulder/arm motionsAble to lift a minimum of 40 poundsBe in good general health and demonstrate emotional stabilityRemain free of illegal drug use and signs of impairment as per facility policy
