Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Cardiology)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM start) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday flexibility required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing cardiovascular surgery, cardiothoracic, and cardiac medical patients including post-op CABG, CHF, AFib, and related diagnoses
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, Lasix, Bumex, Primacor, and Vaprosol <
• Read and interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitoring system
• Manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen; chest tube care as applicable
• Support high-volume room turnover with admissions and discharges; average census of 32–38 patients per shift
• Float to ICU as needed, taking stepdown-level patients; may assist with tasks in the ICU if not carrying ICU-level assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting (required without exception)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Must reside or hold a driver's license address at least 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience pulling pacer wires (orientation provided if not currently able)
• ICU-level nursing experience (noted on contract if applicable for expanded float assignments)
