# Job Opportunity – Geriatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse – North Carolina Start Date: August 19, 2026

Schedule: Day or night shift availability; weekend rotation required; no on-call responsibilities Highlights:

• Join a 9-bed specialized geriatric psychiatric unit within a Magnet-designated medical center recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals
• Patient ratio of 5-9 patients per nurse, supported by behavioral health technicians and sitters as needed
• Work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team in a unit focused on behavioral health and medical needs of elderly patients
• Utilize Cerner EMR and standard equipment including vital signs machines, bladder scanners, IV equipment, and patient safety alarms
• Opportunity to float to all adult inpatient areas, expanding clinical skills and versatility
• Part of a comprehensive healthcare system serving as the region's referral center with Level II trauma capabilities

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience in behavioral health and medical nursing preferred
• Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate approach to caring for geriatric patients
• De-escalation skills highly preferred
