Snack Bar AttendantExercise judgment to comply with instructions and established procedures and to make decisions in the day-to-day operation of a snack bar.High school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. At least 18 months of food handling, short order cooking, or related experience. The ability to read, write and follow instruction is necessary. The ability to count cash, make change and communicate well with the public. At least one year of cash handling experience.Operate independently and without direct supervision to determine quantities of food and beverages needed. Maintain records such as number and dollar volume of sales, daily time record of hours worked, etc. Balance and reconcile cash to cash register tapes. Balance safe (petty cash) daily. Instruct and assign helpers and student staff. Forecast and determine weekly order based upon established menus and customer count history. Place orders with food vendors. Take weekly inventory of products. Take between 300-1200 customer orders daily and serve them. Use POS terminal to add cost of food, collect money and make change. Prepare a variety of simple foods including french fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, soups, sandwiches, etc. Prepare and dispense coffee, tea and other beverages. Wash dishes, cooking utensils, counter space, etc. Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation.Standing 85% – 100% of the shift• Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend to below the knee• Frequent stooping and/or crouching• Frequent walking back and forth throughout the counter area, stock room and food preparation areas• Frequent twisting and bending of head, neck, and torso• Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, and bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, stirring and mixing, wiping, etc.)• Able to lift up to 50lbs from the floor to waist height• Listening to and communicating with customers and staff• Visual and cognitive capability sufficient to read and follow instructions, recipes etc.• Able to lift up to 30 lbs. overhead• Wrist and finger dexterity (i.e. ability to use tongs, scissors)• Able to push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 40 lbs.• Wrist and finger dexterity to allow use of tongs, scissors, pen, fine motor skills, press buttons for data entry on computer, calculator, electronic machines etc.Operate a variety of equipment, including a computerized POS terminal, food slicer, grill, deep fryer, convention oven, steamer, dish washer, etc.In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.
