Event Lead (Flexible Scheduling: DFW, Texas)

Description We are looking for part‑time Event Leads to help coordinate meal packing events. The role is flexible and event‑based. You may sign up for events that fit your schedule, but once you commit you must attend in person. The position is not remote; you must be based in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area as events are held there and sometimes fly out of the DFW airport. All travel expenses are covered and pay is $20 per hour. Training One virtual training day – May 6, 9 AM–5 PM EST In‑person training in Central FL – May 14–17 (travel and accommodations covered) Four virtual training days – May 18–21, 9 AM–5 PM EST each day Position Summary As an Event Lead, you oversee the execution and volunteer management of hunger projects with corporations, schools, congregations, and organizations across the United States. You serve as the point of contact on the day of the event, ensuring a successful, engaging, and impactful event for partners and volunteers. Main Responsibilities Emcee events, speaking in front of crowds. Guide volunteers, partners, and staff on best practices. Connect with clients and ensure excellent customer service (face‑to‑face, email, phone). Manage the event team, including staff and key volunteers, during projects and related travel. Load and unload trucks and shipments at events and act as an on‑site liaison with delivery partners. Coordinate and facilitate event setup and breakdown (electricity, equipment, visuals, sound systems). Ensure food safety guidelines are adhered to by all staff and volunteers. Coordinate pickup of food by distribution partners and update system details. Communicate U. S. Hunger information to potential new partners and donors. Report on the effectiveness of each hunger project (Post‑Event Action Reports, event feedback). Participate in team meetings and communications under direction of the Event Lead Manager. Travel up to 75 % of the time. Requirements 1–3 years of experience in event management, operations, or a client‑engaging role. Extremely attentive to detail, accurate, and thorough in all communication. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Comfortable and confident speaking in front of a crowd. Enthusiastic, strong interpersonal skills, and positive attitude. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage large groups of people. Valid driver’s license to transport product in a sprinter van. Available to travel up to 75 % of the time. Essential Physical Skills Work primarily in loud, crowded environments. Standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, grabbing, holding, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly and remain on feet for hours.
