Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients over a designated time frame and provides care to these patients through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Provides nursing care which include assessing patients, administering medications & vaccinations, coordinating tests & further consultations, and providing scheduling of procedures, providing education & follow up information to patients and families as appropriate. All care provided will be with consideration of patients physical and emotional needs. Education Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) PreferredExperience Qualifications* 1 year Experience in a clinic setting. PreferredSkills and Abilities* Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to rights of patient/significant other, as identified within the institution.* Demonstrates awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution.* Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and departmental functioning. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Licenses and Certifications* Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required* Basic Life Support - BLS RQI, CPR or ACLS certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department. Instructs patient and or family on plan of care, results of tests, and ongoing plan of care.* Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.* Mentors nurses new to their role for the purpose of ensuring successful enculturation, orientation, competence, and emotional support. Supports students to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.* Delivers professional nursing care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring illustrated by creating caring relationships, taking time to have uninterrupted moments with patients and displaying unconditional acceptance and respect.* Promotes a mutually respectful environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and supports the effectiveness of professional relationships and integrates ethics in all aspects of practice.
