HR Assistant

We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented, team-focused person to join our growing team at Home Instead! Position Summary The HR Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and plays a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee records management, compliance, and employee engagement activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing details, and contributing to a positive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting interviews. Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation processes. Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with company policies and state and Home Instead regulations. Track and monitor caregiver licenses, certifications, background checks, and training requirements. Support payroll and timekeeping processes by collecting and verifying employee information. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures. Assist with employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives. Prepare HR reports and maintain confidential records. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and home care regulations. Perform other HR, administrative, and team duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 1-3 years of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience preferred. Experience in healthcare, home care, or a regulated industry is a plus. Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software systems. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
