Dir, Procurement

Company Description: Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams. Job Description Develops and executes a standardized category management platform via strategic component implementation in order to improve the company's financial performance. Implements components include process and policy development, performance management, compliance management, talent management, supplier management, IT integration, and internal relationship building. Supports functional activities include establishing accountabilities at different levels within procurement and category management. Communicates policies and business drivers clearly and compellingly. Drives improved procurement performance. Integrates procurement and category management objectives with business' objectives. Assesses staff competencies. Developes and retains high performing staff. Links procurement and category management business plans to supplier partner strategies. Developes relationships with key business decision makers internally and externally. Integrates e-commerce into the long range procurement/category management strategic plan. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Four-year college degree in business or related field, or equivalent field experience required. Experience in foodservice or food manufacturing companies highly desired. Experience managing and leading teams within supply chain functions, inventory management, vendor management purchasing, or other food service/distribution related functions such as merchandising, category management, and/or sales operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint.
