Staff Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: $169,000 - 253,600 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in a STEM field with 12 years of relevant experience, or a masters degree in a STEM field with 10 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Direct experience with requirements and interface management
• Familiarity with system documentation such as Interface Control Documents, System/Subsystem Specifications, and Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRM)
• Experience using systems engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
• Familiarity with MBE/MBSE concepts and tools
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
• Masters degree in Systems Engineering is preferred
• Understanding of Agile/SCRUM methods and activities is preferred
• Hands-on experience with MBSE tools and concepts, with MagicDraw and/or Cameo preferred
• Experience delivering technical presentations and engaging with customers is preferred
• Design and operational knowledge of Navy programs is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret government or military specifications is preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance is preferred

• Carry out requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for complete systems
• Convert customer or product needs into total system solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate needs into hardware and software specifications
• Create and update system- and subsystem-level specifications in DOORS, including Verification Cross Reference Matrices and traceability from requirements to test plans, procedures, and results
• Maintain system drawings and documentation such as Interface Control Documents and arrangement drawings
• Participate in, lead, and coordinate the preparation, execution, and closeout of internal and external customer reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, and TRR
• Support the development and refinement of Model Based Systems Engineering deliverables, including behavioral models, use case realizations, and state machines
• Work effectively on multiple projects at once and balance competing priorities
• Apply strategic thinking, sound judgment, and good decision-making
• Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats
• Collaborate independently and within a team environment
