Operations Manager – Bakery
Mixin’ It Up Gluten-Free Bakery – Sauk Rapids, MN
Full-time | 40 hours/week | $21–$24/hour based on experience

Mixin’ It Up Gluten-Free Bakery is looking for a full-time Operations Manager to work directly with the owner and help manage the day-to-day operations of our bakery.

This is a hands-on management position and an important leadership role within our small business. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, dependable, confident managing employees, and able to make decisions and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities include:

• Create and manage employee schedules
• Interview, hire, onboard and train employees
• Manage employee performance, attendance and workplace issues
• Oversee daily operations and help keep all departments running smoothly
• Handle employee paperwork and timecard review
• Communicate with wholesale accounts and coordinate wholesale orders
• Prepare invoices, shipping paperwork and delivery information
• Manage routine bakery email, voicemail and customer communication
• Place grocery, food-service and supply orders
• Complete bank deposits and maintain cash/change needs
• Help coordinate online orders and shipping
• Maintain operational records and paperwork
• Assist with staff reviews and employee meetings
• Work directly with the owner on staffing, operational issues and business decisions

The day-to-day administrative responsibilities include managing orders, deposits, invoices, vendor ordering, shipping and wholesale coordination. The position also oversees scheduling, wholesale follow-up and recurring employee-management responsibilities.

The person we're looking for:

You do not need to be an experienced baker. Management experience is more important.

We need someone who can see what needs to be done and take care of it without waiting for constant direction. You should be comfortable managing people, handling multiple priorities, making decisions, staying organized and taking ownership when problems arise.

This position works closely with the owner and has significant responsibility for keeping the bakery operating smoothly.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfortable leading employees and having difficult conversations when necessary
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable with basic computer systems, email and administrative work
• Experience in food service, retail, hospitality or small-business operations is helpful but not required

Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. Some Saturdays and flexibility during busy periods will be required.

Pay: $21–$24/hour based on experience.
