Safety Coordinator

Position Description The role of the Recreation Aide/Safety Coordinator is to contribute to a safe, supportive, and caring school community especially through the supervision of students during lunch and recess. Additionally, this role supports serving meals, parent communications, valet (student pick‑up) and traffic supervision during After School hours. Hours 9:00-5:30pm, Monday - Friday Responsibilities Supervise students during their lunch and recess and ensure that they are exhibiting behaviors consistent with Equitas values Supervise students at other points throughout the school day as needed, such as transitions and restrooms Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic achievement Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture Assist teachers during the school day with oversight and supervision of students Support in the school office with administrative tasks. Support the beautification of the campus. Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition Maintain open lines of communication with staff, families, and other stakeholders Maintain consistent open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders Supervise valet (student drop off/pick‑up) Maintain a safe and structured parking and valet system Assist families and guests with alternative parking solutions Assist School Operations Manager and after school with special projects Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal and School Operations Manager Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Equitas Academy Deep, passionate, and action oriented belief in our mission to support all of our scholars to and through college Strong communication with scholars, staff and parents Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people Customer service approach, strong work ethic, detail-driven work style with excellent organizational skills Ability to prioritize, multi-task, delegate, and lead by example Minimum Requirements Previous experience working with students preferred Bilingual Spanish speaker required High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or some college preferred CPR Certification and First Aid Certificate required within 60 days of hire Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test Salary And Benefits Starting at $20/hour.
