The Lab Technician is responsible for assisting the Chemists, Sr. Chemists, and Manager with administrative tasks within the Tiffany & Co. Merchandise Testing Laboratory. This role is responsible for sample preparation as well as testing of incoming product and manufacturing materials. Key Accountabilities Perform routine laboratory functions that include weighing of gold, silver or platinum samples for gravimetric or instrumental analysis. Perform non-destructive analysis of samples that include X-Ray Fluorescence and Stress Testing of Crystal using a Polarimeter. Prepare samples for food contact testing or performance testing and document results. Organize and file laboratory data and documentation. Assist with data entry utilizing Microsoft Access databases and issue reports for samples submitted to the lab. Assist with shipping, receiving and repacking test samples in to and out of the Merchandise Testing Laboratory (MTL). Conduct routine set up and maintenance of laboratory equipment and glassware. Participate in all safety training seminars and follow all job safety requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or another related scientific discipline 1+ year of analytical lab experience Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Access) Preferred Qualifications American Society for Quality Certifications Experience with XRF or ICP-OES Location: This is fully on-site position based in NJ. Assignment Duration: 6-month temporary contract. The hiring range for this position ranges from $23.50 -$27.50 per hour. The rate of pay offered will be dependent on candidates' relevant skills and experience.
