Quality Engineer

The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in manufacturing or engineering, combined with hands-on experience in quality systems, and a strong understanding of best practices like Six Sigma and Lean.


Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a machine shop environment
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred
• Proficient in blueprint reading, including geometric tolerances
• Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing support processes
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to lead projects from start to finish
• Excellent communication and organizational capabilities
• Knowledge of fixture, tooling practices, and inspection methods
• Ability to interpret and implement quality standards and customer requirements

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead quality improvement projects using Six Sigma, SPC, Lean, and industry best practices
• Develop and refine inspection plans, including CMM programming and fixture design
• Oversee PPAP activities, ensuring timely completion and product conformance
• Support the creation of quality plans throughout product life cycles
• Address and resolve customer quality issues through corrective actions
• Assist with the preparation of bids and proposals for current and future clients
• Support new production launches and ensure compliance during startup
• Prepare for and ensure passing of customer quality audits
• Manage sub-tier supplier quality to guarantee final product reliability
• Travel to customers and suppliers for project development and relationship building
• Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards
• Disposition non-conforming materials and provide comprehensive documentation
• Generate standard work instructions and support manufacturing technical needs
• Promote safety and housekeeping standards within the work environment
