Assistant Controller

Bookkeeper is a key role in the accuracy and integrity of all financial records and processes. The role combines elements of budgeting, general ledger management, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, cash flow management and data analysis. Must be knowledgeable in Quickbooks Online This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits. Responsibilities Execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Prepare and present monthly internal financial reporting and investment account analysis to Finance and Investment Committees. Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational policies and internal controls; support vendor management activities, including onboarding, documentation, and ongoing compliance with contract terms and procurement policies. Prepare and review financial statements and reports for compliance with US GAAP. Maintain and confirm effective operation of internal controls over financial reporting. Identify and execute opportunities to streamline processes, improving efficiency and data quality within the finance function. Partner with other business functions to ensure proper accounting treatment of all grants, contracts, and transactions. Support the annual financial budget cycle and target setting; perform analysis and create presentations for external board and finance committee members. Support enterprise risk management activities, including annual corporate insurance renewal. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting. Minimum 3 years of relevant and progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and audit support. Must be Quickbooks Online Proficient. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Must be able to pass a background check.
