We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join a healthcare appeals team on a contract basis with the potential to become permanent. In this role, you will help keep reimbursement appeal matters moving efficiently by preparing documentation, coordinating filings, and maintaining accurate case records tied to Medicare review activity. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is organized, comfortable managing deadlines, and able to support a structured legal or regulatory workflow with professionalism and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, revise, and maintain appeal-related documents to support matters before the Medicare Provider Reimbursement Review Board.
• Organize and update case files so records remain complete, accessible, and audit-ready throughout each stage of the appeals process.
• Submit materials through the appropriate electronic filing platform and verify that filings are completed accurately and on time.
• Track deadlines, correspondence, and status updates within case management and project tracking systems.
• Review incoming notices and communications from the Review Board and coordinate distribution or follow-up for all relevant parties.
• Assemble and evaluate jurisdictional and supporting documentation needed to advance appeal submissions.
• Maintain standardized templates and administrative records while helping improve consistency across appeal documentation.
• Provide additional administrative and paralegal support as needed to keep workflows efficient and responsive.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant paralegal experience in a law firm, legal department, or similar setting, or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.
• Paralegal certificate from an approved program is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle correspondence clearly and accurately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort working in document management, e-filing, or case management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive assignments.
• Ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and use critical thinking in a deadline-driven environment.
