Summary This position is located within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Fish & Wildlife Service, Region 2, Assistant Regional Director-Fisheries and Aquatic Conservation Military Lands Conservation Program. This position's duty station preference is Indiahoma, Oklahoma at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge but this is not a National Wildlife Refuge position. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Plans and implements natural resources management projects such as monitoring, restoration, invasive species control, and other actions. Uses and applies professional knowledge of ecological principles from a variety of natural resources disciplines.
- Plans, implements and interprets species and habitat monitoring and research projects to determine the status of plant and animal populations and communities as well as the success of natural resources management and restoration projects.
- Uses and applies professional knowledge to conduct: data management, analysis, mapping, and scientific report writing.
- Works with interdisciplinary staff of different levels. Communicates effectively on technical and non-technical matters to a wide audience and works with a variety of groups and stakeholders including the military, other agencies, contractors and the public.
- Represents the Service with military partners by implementing partnership projects at multiple locations across Oklahoma and Texas.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
