Position Summary Weatherford College occasionally opens positions for adjunct instructors. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply to join a pool of candidates for future openings. When a need arises, the hiring manager will draw from the pool. The role requires teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of specific learning outcomes, and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities. Special Requirements This position is security‑sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 and 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment. Required Education All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. This includes an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Candidates must submit transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses. Required Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of study. Preferred Education Associate degree or higher. Transcripts, certifications, and/or licenses must be included in the application. Preferred Experience 3 to 7 years of work experience in the field of study and classroom teaching experience with adult learners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in Electricity/Electronics, Fluid Power, PLC, Robotics, and System Level Troubleshooting and safety. Provide instruction that facilitates student acquisition of learning outcomes and mentor students. Create and maintain an effective learning environment across face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit modalities. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Deliver timely feedback to students and respond to communications promptly. Conduct student assessments, submit final grades in a timely manner, and maintain ethical and professional behavior. Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, complete required training, and perform related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of electricity, analog/digital electronics, circuit analysis, circuit troubleshooting, wiring, soldering, and low‑voltage/high‑voltage safety protocols. Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, fluid power principles, safety, and system troubleshooting. Experience with Siemens/Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers, general industrial control systems, networking, HMI, safety, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with AC/DC motors, single and multi‑phase motors, motor control, electrical/mechanical safety, alignment, and troubleshooting. Understanding of robotics, automations, sensors, vision, cobots, safety, networking, electric/pneumatic interface, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with hand and power tools, test equipment, gauges, meters, thermography, and calibration standards used in industrial maintenance. Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; to create a professional and effective learning environment; to communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups; to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice; to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards; and to observe the College policies and procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr WEATHERFORD COLLEGE
