Manufacturing Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Rochester, NY. The client is Ideally looking for someone who can operate like a hands-on Manufacturing / Assembly Integration Engineer in a precision aerospace production environment — someone who can take engineering designs and make sure they are successfully built, integrated, tested, troubleshot, and delivered on schedule.

Rate Range: $43/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.

• Review and provide feedback on electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical drawings and designs.

• Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end-products.

• Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met.

• Own product schedule development - coordinate across disciplines to ensure agreement amongst stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays.

• Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership.

• Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.

• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.

• Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.

Manufacturing Engineer Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

• 2-8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.

• Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering.

• Experience with Optical Metrology.

• Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Ability to support 9/80 work schedule is preferred.
