Job Details: Job Location: Oakland, CA - Oakland, CA 94601, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $39.00 - $52.00 Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 40%, Job Category: Athletic Trainer, Job Summary The Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS), Dedicated Rapid Response is responsible for providing injury prevention services to onsite clients at their work locations to support urgent staffing needs, planned and unplanned coverage, interim vacancies, and other assigned coverage needs in accordance with the applicable Statement of Work (SOW). The IPS provides direct service delivery within applicable clinical scope, state licensure guidelines, and client-specific SOW requirements. The IPS also supports the development of injury prevention, health, and wellness programs in various settings, including quality assurance and quality control processes. This position will be primarily based out of one of the following: Oakland, CA Fremont, CA San Jose, CA San Carlos, CA Surrounding area Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm +/- 1 hour based on seasonality and location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide Rapid Response onsite support for assigned WorkCare clients and projects, including urgent staffing needs, planned and unplanned coverage, interim vacancies, and other assigned coverage needs in accordance with the applicable Statement of Work (SOW). This includes, but is not limited to: Provide seamless coverage for planned and unplanned staffing gaps, including employee leave of absence, PTO, vacancies, interim staffing needs, and short-notice client coverage requests. Deliver onsite injury prevention, ergonomics, wellness, and related services within applicable clinical scope, state licensure guidelines, and client-specific SOW requirements. Support multiple clients, locations, and projects as assigned, including short-term, recurring, or extended deployments based on business and client needs. Provide triage, first aid, education, and escalation of care as appropriate and within scope. Facilitate ongoing communication with relevant parties involved in injury case management, including support for reporting, medical care coordination, modified work discussions, and accident investigation as appropriate. Proactively engage employees at their work location to identify injury risks, support safe work practices, and reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses. Conduct ergonomic analyses and provide recommendations related to work posture, tool use, vehicle setup, workstation modifications, and other job-specific risk factors. Provide on-the-job coaching and education to improve body mechanics, postural habits, physical resilience, and total worker health. Assist employees in achieving sustained lifestyle improvements in areas such as nutritional health, physical fitness, and stress management. Address and mitigate risks related to employees’ total health to reduce the risk of job-related injuries and illnesses. Develop job-specific agility, conditioning, and work hardening routines designed to reduce injury risk and improve readiness for job demands. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of triage, first aid, ergonomic assessments, employee education, and other services provided. Gain a working understanding of assigned client operations, workflows, job demands, and site-specific processes to make practical injury prevention recommendations. Leverage available technology to support total worker health and service delivery. Support client-facing events, initiatives, and special projects aligned with client and WorkCare program goals. Collaborate with Prevention Services, program operations, and other WorkCare service lines, including Injury Care, Wellness, and Onsite Clinics, to support coordinated service delivery. Assist with regional emergency response or business continuity support when requested and appropriate to the role, including natural disaster or other urgent response needs. May be required to provide fill-in onsite injury prevention, ergonomics, and wellness services to the extent possible within applicable clinical and state licensure guidelines outside of their primary work area requiring overnight and extended travel. May collaborate in operations of Prevention Services department. Collaborates with Prevention Services to complete quality assurance audits and deliver standard reporting to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Develops and performs consulting service delivery as assigned. Work in partnership with other WorkCare service lines, including Injury Care, Wellness, and Onsite Clinics. Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare. Qualifications: Education and Experience Required: Graduate of accredited healthcare education program Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related field Minimum 3 years professional experience Must hold CPR/First Aid certification Medical professional license or certification highly recommended Valid driver's license and reliable transportation method Ability to travel up to 40%, occasionally overnight Preferred: Graduate of accredited CAATE athletic training education program. Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field At least five (5) years professional experience with at least two (2) years occupational health experience Ergonomics experience and certification Experience in wellness, program start-up, and quality assurance Experience with extended travel Skills and Competencies Ability to travel with short notice. Computer Skills Proficient in Windows operating system environment, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed Physical Demands Ability to walk long distances - 2+ miles per shift while onsite. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk and operating a vehicle. Bending, stretching, and the ability to frequently get in and out of a vehicle. Ability to work under stressful, sometimes unpredictable situations. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and mouse. Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and/or crouch. On rare occasions may be required to perform emergency care. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to travel long distances for extended periods of time. Work Environment Potential for frequent indoor, office, manufacturing, medical clinic environment conditions. Potential for frequent outdoor, work environment conditions. May be required to work in loud environments with proper personal protective equipment as necessary. If required, at home work environment must be free from background noise and distraction. If required, at home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy, and safety requirements. Travel environments. The noise level is usually moderate. Indoor air quality is good and temperature is controlled. Outdoor air quality and temperature are subject to weather and environmental factors. This position has an hourly pay range of $39 - $52 per hour. Final compensation for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
