In this role, you will provide patient-centered care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and support patients and families through all stages of treatment. Responsibilities Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs. Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately, following hospital policies and provider orders. Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in condition. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other team members to coordinate care and discharge planning. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies. Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards at all times. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects. Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as requested by unit leadership. Key Nursing Skills Acute care nursing Medical-surgical nursing Patient assessment Care planning Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within specified timeframe after hire). Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (preferred, e.g., CMSRN). Completion of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
