General Responsibilities Completes ordered orthopedic consultations, ER and nursing unit, as requested for supervising physicians Orders appropriate testing/imaging for patient evaluation and pre-operative testing for surgical patients Contacts physician when consultation is complete Schedules operative cases after consulting with supervising physician Performs daily rounds on patients and orders appropriate testing including radiographs, labs, and urgent studies Communicates updates with attending MD/APP Enters post operative orders Performs appropriate bedside procedures such as aspirations, injections, and application of splints, braces, and casts, bedside incisions and drainage, as well as closed reductions Assists in surgical procedures as needed Always demonstrates Service Excellence standards Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree required. Doctoral degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. 5-7 years specialized medical training Minimum of 3 years of orthopedic assistance preferred Must be board certified Must hold or be able to obtain an active Florida Medical Licensure prior to start Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS at start date Basic computer skills Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many different surgeons who follow different protocols Must be self-directed, organized and possess effective communication skills when communicating with physicians and hospital staff If you have already submitted your application online and have a specific question, please contact Katelyn Caldwell at View phone number on click.appcast.io.
