Who are we?

ID Care is New Jersey's leading infectious disease practice, built on a long-standing commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. Formed in 1998 through the merger of two independent infectious disease practices, ID Care has grown into the largest private, independent infectious disease practice on the East Coast and the second largest in the United States. Today, the organization brings together more than 50 board-certified infectious disease physicians and advanced practice clinicians serving patients, hospitals, healthcare organizations, and communities across New Jersey.

Our mission is to lead in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases. That mission guides every aspect of our work, from complex inpatient consultations and antimicrobial stewardship to outpatient infectious disease care, infusion services, wound care, travel medicine, epidemiology, and clinical research. ID Care physicians are trusted partners to hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout the state, helping improve patient safety, care quality, and outcomes in an ever-changing healthcare environment.

Job Summary

ID Care is a physician-led infectious disease practice offering a collaborative, diverse clinical environment with opportunities across inpatient and outpatient care, wound care, travel medicine, infusion services, infection prevention, epidemiology, and antimicrobial stewardship. Physicians are supported by experienced colleagues, APPs, physician extenders, and a professional management infrastructure designed to promote clinical excellence, professional growth, and work/life balance. Opportunities are available for both experienced physicians and new graduates, with competitive incentive-based compensation and the potential for partnership.

Clinical Excellence

• Enjoy a diversified practice with like-minded colleagues offering inpatient and outpatient consultations, wound care, travel medicine, and infusion services while also encouraging teaching/academia, clinical research, administrative, and leadership positions.

• Surround yourself with innovative, forward thinking physicians reinventing the concept of a standardized ID service line with a comprehensive offering of services across the continuum of care

• Commitments with acute hospitals and post acute and long term care facilities to provide leadership, guidance and support for infection prevention, epidemiology, and antimicrobial stewardship

• Participate in monthly journal clubs or the extremely popular "idcare-physician chat" where case conferences and discussions are handled ad hoc and often multiple times a day with solutions to a variety of challenging cases

• Hospital coverage groups or "pods" which provide a team approach to enhance effective collaboration and interaction with colleagues and standardize and improve the quality of care of patients

Competitive Compensation

• Physician income is incentive-based and renumerative throughout one's career

  • Our physicians earn nearly 2x the median Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) salary for an ID physician and many earn 3x to 4x
