With 20 treatment beds, the department is equipped to meet a wide range of emergency healthcare needs. Our teams combine advanced training with compassionate service to be ready for you or your family when you need it the most.Summary:Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.Reports to: Director or Manager of Emergency DepartmentEssential Functions:Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care activities.Documents patient care providedMonitors, records and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient and family.Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition and circumstances.Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patientParticipates in performance improvement and continuing education.Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.Maintains regular and reliable attendance.Performs other duties as assigned.How You'll ContributeA Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needsIdentifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventionsProvides care appropriate to condition and age of the patientPerforms timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical recordResponsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patientPerforms timely and accurate QI assessmentsAdditional Information:Patient populations served: Neonate, infant, early childhood, late childhood, adolescent, young adult, middle adult and older adult.Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete medical recordsExposure: Occupations exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employeesPhysical requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
