Job Description
Title
Respiratory Therapist - RRT

Schedule
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Block schedules available

Requirements
- License: Valid Washington license required at time of submission
- Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS*, PALS* required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years clinical experience required, trauma experience at a Level I trauma center preferred, prior pediatric experience preferred
- EMR: Experience with Epic required
- Core clinical skills include:
- Ventilator management (weaning, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms)
- ABG interpretation
- Airway management (oral/nasal airways, tracheostomy care, trach collar management)
- Emergency/trauma response and rapid response participation
- Inhaled/bronchodilator therapies and aerosol/MDI administration

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care in various settings including floor care, emergency department, and during emergency responses.
- Conduct assessments and monitor patients' respiratory status, including interpreting ABGs.
- Manage ventilator settings and respond to alarms while providing weaning protocols.
- Participate in rapid response teams and provide critical care to patients of all age groups.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and care needs.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and the use of therapeutic equipment.

- Compliance documents due: Monday prior to start
- Must submit last 4 digits of SSN and RTO at time of submission
- Travelers expected to float as needed
- Pre-approved time off: None listed
- Orientation: 36 hours
