Senior Process Engineer (R&D)

QuidelOrtho seeks a Senior Process Engineer in Rochester, NY to design and optimize manufacturing processes for diagnostic products. The role involves leading process improvement initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and transferring validated processes to manufacturing operations within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

Design and optimize manufacturing processes for diagnostic reagents and related products
Lead process improvement teams to develop strategy and work plans for project objectives
Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency
Conduct process risk assessments, FMEA, and root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues
Transfer validated processes to manufacturing and verify capability against design requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical engineering or related technical field
Minimum 5 years of process engineering experience in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills with data-driven decision making
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Knowledge of safe chemical and biological handling practices
Ability to travel less than 10%; not eligible for visa sponsorship

Compensation: $95,000-$105,000 base; bonus eligible
