Associate Attorney

Gatling PLLC is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join our growing insurance defense practice in Madison, Mississippi.

We are seeking a motivated attorney who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment, exercises sound judgment, and values professionalism, responsiveness, and strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and coverage-related correspondence
• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
• Analyze complex claims and develop strategic case evaluations
• Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and experts
• Collaborate with firm leadership on litigation strategy and case management

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Mississippi
• 5+ years of litigation experience preferred
• Insurance defense experience strongly preferred
• Alabama licensure is a plus
• Experience handling coverage matters, general liability, or SIU-related investigations is a plus
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage files independently and efficiently
