AUTOMOTIVE INVENTORY MANAGER – WALTERBORO FORD

Location: Walterboro, South Carolina
Job Type: Full-Time

Walterboro Ford is hiring a full-time Automotive Inventory Manager in Walterboro, SC. We are looking for a quick learner who is highly organized, technology-savvy, detail-oriented, and capable of managing new and used vehicle inventory in a fast-paced Ford dealership.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable learning dealership software, inventory-management systems, pricing tools, vehicle merchandising platforms, and digital reporting technology. This position requires someone who takes ownership, solves problems, follows through, and keeps dealership inventory accurate, competitively priced, properly advertised, and ready for sale.

Automotive Inventory Manager Responsibilities

• Manage new and pre-owned vehicle inventory from acquisition through retail delivery
• Maintain accurate vehicle records in the dealership management system
• Ensure inventory information is accurate across the dealership website and third-party automotive marketplaces
• Coordinate vehicle inspections, service repairs, reconditioning, detail, photography, and online merchandising
• Monitor used-car pricing, market position, inventory age, and vehicle turn
• Ensure vehicles are photographed, priced, advertised, and placed on the frontline promptly
• Track each vehicle’s location and retail-readiness status
• Maintain accurate vehicle keys, window labels, stock numbers, and inventory documentation
• Conduct regular physical inventory audits
• Identify missing information, pricing errors, and process delays
• Produce daily and weekly automotive inventory reports for dealership management
• Work closely with sales, service, accounting, marketing, and dealership leadership
• Learn and operate dealership inventory software and emerging automotive technology
• Follow up on outstanding tasks until every vehicle is ready for sale

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to learn new software and processes quickly

• Strong time-management and follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple vehicles, priorities, and deadlines
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Dependable, self-motivated, and accountable
• Comfortable working independently and across multiple dealership departments
• Ability to identify problems and recommend practical solutions
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Preferred Experience

• Automotive dealership inventory-management experience
• New-vehicle or used-vehicle inventory experience
• Dealership Management System experience
• Vehicle pricing and market-analysis experience
• Automotive photography or digital merchandising experience
• Familiarity with dealership websites and third-party vehicle listing platforms

Previous automotive experience is preferred, but Walterboro Ford will consider an exceptional candidate with strong technology skills, organizational ability, urgency, and a proven record of learning quickly.
