Field Services Technician 3

Opportunity IT Support Technician will provide direct end‑user technical support for the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) contract, delivering comprehensive IT support for end users at customer sites throughout Virginia and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, integrated systems, and software at client or field locations; instructing customers in equipment operation; providing technical assistance; performing preventative maintenance; and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions to resolve problems in the shortest time possible. Impact Provide technical/IT support for Commonwealth of Virginia Maintain system updates, ticketing, and asset management Perform break/fix software and hardware support, including OEM‑certified warranty repair Support end users who remotely access services, including shipping replacement devices and coordinating 3rd‑party repair or onsite support Provide remote support via administration tools and onsite/deskside support Image Commonwealth devices Support Windows operating system and application troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and system restorations Provide after‑hours and weekend support when needed Lead projects Skills Experience leading projects Experience troubleshooting hardware (laptops/desktops) Valid driver’s license Self‑driven attitude Keen eye for recognizing problems and driving resolutions Critical thinker who can think outside the box Ability to communicate complex resolutions to end users and internal teams Ability to empathize with customers What Sets You Apart Experience with scripting Prior experience working with vendors such as Dell, HP, or Apple products Travel Requirements Travel varies depending on tickets and technical skillset. This range reflects the anticipated base pay and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.
