following clinics: (Role will float to St. Louis Park, St. Paul Wabasha
HealthPartners clinics.). Could include other locations in the future.

HealthPartners is currently hiring for an LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT within
Occupational Medicine.
The required qualifications for the LPN position include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American
Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS
certification is not acceptable.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including appropriate
use of English grammar and spelling.
* One year working experience as an LPN is preferred.
The required qualifications for the Medical Assistant/EMT position include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduated of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR Graduate of an
accredited EMT program and current EMT License
* Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American
Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained.
On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate
use of English grammar and spelling.
* Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT
is preferred
The LPN position responsibilities include:
- Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
- Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in
the ambulatory care setting.
- Assist patients to achieve basic health care goals.
- Identify patient education needs, provide instruction and refer
appropriately.
- Document observations, actions and patient outcomes.
- Provide safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and
families.
* Recognize patient’s abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate
assistance.
* Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize and
report variances.
- Teach techniques or provide information according to established program.
- Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each
patient’s record.
* Appropriately communicate information to other members of the health care
team.
* Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information
regarding the procedure and care.
- Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD.
- Assure patients’ rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality.
- Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant
practice areas.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Serve as a catalyst in improving standards of LPN practice.
- Serve as a role model for technical conduct and practice.
- Provide support to professional and technical staff.
- Solve problems appropriately seeking assistance from members of the
healthcare team.
* Effect positive response from patients and other members of the healthcare
team through interpersonal skills.
The Medical Assistant/EMT position responsibilities include:
* Room patients and complete vital signs and other pertinent physical
measurements.
* Administer medication and clinical procedures according to authorized policy
and documented according to HealthPartners policy. This may include DISCUS or
AIMS assessment.
* Review charts for the presence of pertinent information relevant to the
patient’s appointment. This may include Prepared Practice work as developed
by the team.
* Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to
the patient.
* Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner per
HealthPartners policy.
* Seek medical and/or nursing assistance when encountering an acutely ill
patient or a patient with a changing condition.
* Prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms and set up for procedures. Assist
provider as needed.
- Prepare the patient for medical interventions.
- Prepare charts and records for appointments as indicated by the type of
clinic visit according to established practices.
- Check MSRs for completion and route appropriately.
- Prepare lab, x-ray and miscellaneous forms as requested
- Process drug refills according to clinic protocols
- Monitor station logs as assigned.
- Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the
clinic/location.
* Accurately receive and relay messages and test results to the appropriate
person/location in a manner consistent with clinic practices and/or
standards.
* Gather all necessary and appropriate information from a caller and relay
information to the appropriate provider for necessary follow-up.
* Inform reception desk of provider’s schedule status and assist in
coordination of urgent and non-urgent provider schedule changes to ensure
patient and provider needs are met.
* Perform patient correspondence when requested and assist patients in
completing forms when appropriate.
* Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to procedure and
OSHA standards.
* Complete scheduled cleaning requirements for designated work areas. Document
completion of work to comply with infection control and OSHA standards
* Implement other infection control procedures as needed and adhere to
protective clothing requirements.
* Ensure clinic supplies are adequately stocked and well organized. Process and
deliver department inventory requests in a timely manner. Routinely check
expiration dates and remove or replace outdated supplies.
- Maintain prescription sample supply cabinet as per clinic protocol
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and adequate records are kept.
Ensure inventory of instruments and equipment is current. Ensure
instruments and equipment are calibrated as needed and maintained in proper
working order.
The Medical Assistant and LPN position requires the ability to sit or stand for
prolonged periods of time. Must possess speech, hearing, and sight skills to
perform the functions of the position. Manual dexterity required. Must be able
to speak, read and write English proficiently. Proficiency in other languages
may be required. Some positions may have lifting requirements.
