Job Description
The Tow Truck Operator is responsible for safely recovering and towing a variety of vehicles including passenger cars, commercial trucks, and motorcycles. Operating independently on variable shifts, this role demands expertise in vehicle recovery, roadside assistance, and accident scene management. The operator ensures all equipment is inspected and compliant with safety regulations while providing excellent customer service during each assignment.
Responsibilities
- Recover and tow passenger cars, commercial trucks, motorcycles, and mixed vehicle types
- Provide roadside assistance and manage accident scenes, including accident scene reporting
- Load and secure vehicles safely using appropriate equipment
- Inspect towing equipment regularly to maintain safety compliance
- Plan efficient routes for timely vehicle recovery and delivery
- Adhere to all safety and Department of Transportation regulations
- Deliver professional customer service during all operations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in vehicle towing
- Tow truck operator certification
- Valid DOT Medical Card
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of road safety procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Physical fitness for vehicle loading and securing
- Experience in strapping and securing loads securely
