Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our acute care rehabilitation team. This position requires a commitment to providing specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs, including neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, ABI, and spinal cord injuries. The RN will work a 3x12-hour night shift schedule, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every third weekend and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Float between various locations as required.
Ensure comprehensive patient assessments and care for a diverse patient population in the inpatient rehab department.
Utilize EPIC for patient management and documentation.
Interpret laboratory results and perform medication reconciliation.
Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, respiration, temperature, and pulse.
Perform dressing changes and set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays.
Conduct capillary blood sampling, specimen labeling, and phlebotomy.
Engage in telephone triage and manage pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
Provide care to patients with rehabilitation needs post-stroke, aneurysm, and post-operative surgical interventions.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required.
Experience in acute care rehabilitation is preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proficient in the interpretation of laboratory results and patient health questionnaires.
Ability to assess patient needs and manage care effectively with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, with some rotations allowing a ratio of 1:7 based on acuity.
