They work in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, creating personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and history to identify functional limitations. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment and patient goals. Implement therapeutic techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate, maintain, and calibrate physical therapy equipment and modalities safely. Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations and outcomes in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals to coordinate care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management. Maintain a safe environment following infection control protocols and safety regulations. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Assist in discharge planning for smooth transitions to community or home settings. Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned. PC literacy and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical endurance – stationary work, moving about, moving equipment (50‑100 lbs), pushing, pulling, bending.
