Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 3x12.0 hours per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. The role involves minimal supervision, evaluation of patients, and recommendation of treatment plans. This position requires explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, as well as providing necessary education upon discharge.

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods.
• Monitor and conduct oximetry and capnography in accordance with policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform 12-Lead EKGs with basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist with procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Perc Trachs, and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal.
• Conduct arterial punctures and test for ventilation efficiency.
• Engage in cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Record treatments and patient responses in charts and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and handle equipment set-up, testing, and maintenance.

Candidates must possess a valid Respiratory Therapy License and relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting.
