Maintenance Technician I

Job Responsibilities & Duties Remove snow & ice in winters by plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, spreading salt, etc. Perform basic routine maintenance & repairs on building, machines, equipment Maintain stocks of cutter knives & screens Read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance tasks Greasing of necessary equipment. Changing out of cutter knives,6 knife 12 knife, grinder, u-machine, condux Sharpening of cutters in mills Repair and replace cutter screens as necessary Basic plant maintenance Ability to follow written screen change , knifing sheets with minimal supervision Use of variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment Perform other related duties and assignments as directed by plant management. Strip and make cutter screens Run knife sharpener Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Strong work ethic Ability to work outside in all weather conditions for extended periods of time Ability to operate company owned equipment (mowers, plow truck, forklifts, man lifts, etc.) Ability to work at heights of 50' on occasion Ability to work in confined spaces periodically Excellent organizational and time management skills
