RN - Observation Unit

Registered Nurse (RN)

This position requires expertise in assessing, implementing, and monitoring patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the authorized plan of care and accepted nursing standards.
• Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and addressing alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to update or revise plans based on current information improving patient care.
• Accurately process physician/provider orders and deliver physician-ordered care in a timely manner.
• Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of observation experience.
• Epic EMR experience is preferred.
• Active Michigan RN License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Weekend requirements: Every other weekend.
