Pharmacy Technician

• Pay Rate: $23.00–$24.00/hour
• Location: Shelby Township, MI 48315
• Work Setting: 100% Onsite
• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to support a closed-door specialty pharmacy that assists patients enrolled in manufacturer-sponsored free drug programs, with a strong focus on Multiple Sclerosis medications. This role works under the supervision of a pharmacist and is primarily responsible for prescription fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, and maintaining an organized pharmacy environment.

This position has minimal patient interaction and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative pharmacy setting focused on timely, accurate medication fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescription orders for pharmacist review.
• Perform prescription data entry by entering prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Process prescription refill requests.
• Initiate prescription clarification requests as needed.
• Receive verbal prescription instructions from prescribers when permitted by pharmacy regulations.
• Complete reorder processing to ensure timely prescription refills.
• Assist with inventory management and medication organization.
• Prepare and ship medication orders.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the pharmacy.
• Work closely with pharmacists and other departments to ensure timely and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Follow all company policies, quality standards, safety procedures, and state/federal pharmacy regulations.
• Complete assigned worklists and additional duties as directed.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

• At least 1 year of pharmacy technician or related medical office experience.
• Familiarity with medications used to treat chronic or debilitating illnesses preferred.
• Inventory management experience preferred.
• Experience using ScriptMed software is a plus.

License

• Active Michigan Pharmacy Technician License required at the time of hire.
