Job Title: RN - Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: Seasonal Travel Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care postpartum hospital License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS & NRP Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of current acute care postpartum hospital experience Description: This is a seasonal travel RN position in a postpartum unit. The unit consists of 29 beds and has a total of 61 staff members. Staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 1 desk PCT on night shifts, with RNs assigned based on census. Patient ratios are typically 3-4 couplets per RN. Equipment used includes Welch Allen vitals machines and POC glucose monitoring devices. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Candidates with high-risk postpartum experience and Level 2 nursery experience are preferred. Typical procedures performed on this unit include POC glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support, and postpartum hemorrhage management. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire to stay busy. Patient care experience is a priority. The unit operates as a close-knit family where teamwork is essential. Scheduling is flexible, and the unit is willing to accommodate travelers. The unit serves high-risk patients, separating low-risk patients to another facility for care. The unit is known for a supportive environment and working collaboratively as a team.
