Have you been seeking a workplace where you can build a long-term career, using your good heart and strong skills to enrich life for those who need you most? As a Special Education Teacher , you’ll do the meaningful work of optimizing the quality of life for individuals with autism by creating a nurturing, structured learning environment that promotes learning while helping students feel supported and capable. Here, you can turn your compassion into action and make a profoundly meaningful impact. You’ll also get to be a leader, harnessing the power of technology and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles while guiding your professional team, facilitating meetings, linking related service initiatives to classroom programs, along with coaching and supervising all Teacher’s Aides and Assistants. And as part of our team at Anderson, you will also have the chance to flourish outside of your role at school. - You will develop and maintain evidence-based educational systems and instructional programs to promote classroom management and a strong classroom learning environment.
- You will lead the professional team and provide direct supervision and guidance to Teachers Aides and Assistants.
- You will demonstrate excellent time management skills, maintaining high standards for organization and management of materials, equipment, paperwork, and schedules.
- You will prepare, deliver, and assess individual and group instruction on a daily basis.
- You will develop and evaluate results in the context of student IEP goals and objectives, and conduct training for other team members when needed so that skills can be generalized.
- You will utilize behavioral supports to drive student learning and skills development success.
- You will help cultivate a collaborative, cohesive classroom team experience focused on actively addressing student learning, communication, social skills, and behavioral needs.
- You will help create a culture of unconditional positive regard that maximizes strengths while effectively navigating any challenges that arise, and ultimately do what you can to optimize student learning success and confidence.
What You Can Bring to the Team:
- Dependability, compassion, integrity, patience, adaptability, perseverance, and a genuine belief that students deserve a classroom environment where they feel safe and valued.
- Strong communication, organizational, collaborative, interpersonal, teaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis practices, neurodiversity-affirming frameworks, and sensory sensitivities.
- Alignment with our mission and values.
- In addition, we expect that you:
