Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Retail Manager for a specialty retail store in Galena, IL. This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming and unique retail environment while taking an active role in store operations, merchandising, product sourcing, and customer engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and assist with sales
Develop product knowledge, including basic cooking and recipe information, to assist customers
Process customer orders and coordinate shipping
Restock shelves and rotate inventory by date
Receive, price, and stock incoming merchandise
Operate and troubleshoot the POS system as needed
Create visually appealing merchandise displays and window presentations
Handle cash management responsibilities, including deposits and bank runs
Maintain store cleanliness and overall appearance
Assist with inventory counts and inventory management
Order products and manage purchasing activities
Monitor consumer trends and identify opportunities for new product offerings
Evaluate product performance and profit margins
Source and research new products and vendors
Assist with expanding and maintaining the company's social media presence
Contribute creative ideas for merchandising, marketing, and store presentation
Perform additional duties as assigned

Schedule

Required in-store days:
Thursday: 7.5 hours
Friday: 7.5 hours
Saturday: 8.5 hours
In addition to the required Thursday-Saturday schedule, the Retail Manager will work one additional in-store day and one remote day each week. The remote day will focus on buying, product research, social media management, and other administrative duties.

Qualifications

Strong reliability and punctuality
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Creative eye for merchandising and visual displays
Comfortable lifting inventory and using a step stool for stocking
Basic math, cash-handling, and computer skills
Interest in retail operations, buying, merchandising, or specialty foods preferred
