What You'll Do

• Conduct chemical analyses to determine normal and abnormal components in blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyze blood cells using microscopic techniques to identify and count cell types.
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by conducting compatibility and blood group tests.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as analyzers, spectrophotometers, and flame photometers.
• Manage laboratory supplies inventory, including checking stock levels and placing orders.
• Generate reports from collected data, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance/quality improvement standards.
• Follow infection-control and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Stay current with professional development by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
• Assist team members and respond to questions regarding laboratory processes and results.

What You Need

Required:

• Valid certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
• Prior laboratory experience
• Strong attention to detail and technical skills
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment safely

Preferred:

• Experience working in a hospital or diagnostic lab setting
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and infection control protocols
