Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - OR Circulating Nurse for a day shift position at a small community hospital requiring call coverage and multi-service line experience.

Details

Operating Room setting within a 100-bed community hospital

Circulating RN role supporting surgical patients at a 1:1 ratio

13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, four 9-hour day shifts (0700-1630)

Call requirements include one weeknight call per week (1630-0700) and one weekend (48 hrs) of call approximately every 6-7 weeks

No regularly scheduled weekend hours outside of call

Standard OR equipment used

EPIC EMR

Low census floating may be requested for 1:1 coverage on other units, though not regular

Preferred experience in Ortho, Urology, OB/GYN, General, and ENT service lines

Requirements

Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required

BLS and ACLS certifications required for call coverage

Minimum 5 years of OR circulating experience required

Experience in a smaller facility OR setting preferred

Experience across multiple surgical service lines required

Driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references required

Additional Information

Circulating RN responsibilities include supporting surgical procedures and assisting with room turnovers

Team-oriented unit culture where all staff, including travelers, are treated equally

Floating between facilities within a 25-mile radius may be required as needed

Scrubs provided by the OR department

Candidates located within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for assignment renewals or extensions

RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract

Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information
