Portfolio Analyst

Actual compensation for this role is commensurate with experience, skill set, and other qualifications. East Cambridge Savings Bank’s Lending Division is actively recruiting for a Portfolio Analyst. Function : Under the general direction of the First Vice President-Sr Comm Credit and Portfolio Officer, performs a variety of administrative tasks in connection with managing the loan portfolio for the Commercial Lending Division. We are looking for candidates with: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent through specialized coursework and training 3 years’ experience in a Banking environment Knowledge of commercial lending products preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines Essential Job Functions: Coordinates the financial reporting and covenant tracking for commercial loan relationships. Manages and maintains an assigned portfolio by: facilitating borrower financial reporting submissions to the Bank; reviewing the status of overdue financials and exceptions; and updating and maintaining financials and covenants on a regular basis. Provides Management with regular status updates. Assists with annual assessment to determine liquidity, quality of management, market position and overall business climate to estimate future profitability of business. Monitors current loans and credit lines to ensure compliance with terms. Reports discrepancies to Management. Monitors loan maturity expiration dates 90 days in advance. Ensures the timely completion of credit file updates and Loan Officer comments. Assists with loan rating adjustments. Performs loan review analysis and underwrites credits as needed. Monitors and tracks loans requiring Borrowing Base Certificates and Accounts Receivable aging. Evaluates collateral position and prepares monthly conformity chart on each credit. Coordinates with loan operations availability per monthly BBC/AR aging. Works closely with customers and Commercial Lending Officers to ensure all documentation is in place and applicable terms and conditions are adhered to. Assists with maintaining strong customer relationships and providing assistance as needed to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensures that all loans that are incomplete due to missing documentation are reported to the AVP/Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager. Routinely reviews asset quality of all loans assigned. Reports any findings that may have an adverse affect on loan collateral or a borrower’s ability to repay the loan. Maintains a good working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures and identifies deviations from policy. Keeps abreast of legal and regulatory developments.
