Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer

We are hiring for an experienced Senior Full Stack engineer to join our team and help build and scale our data-centric platform. In this role you will work closely on the following topics:

Platform Design, Engineering Excellence & Scalability

• Collaborate in the development of the OpenSC platform, working on distributed backend systems that support high-volume data processing.

• Focus on designing and building secure, reliable and user friendly frontend features to enhance user experience by working closely with our product team.

• Focus on quality and reliability by writing clean, well-tested code and ensuring operational stability through robust monitoring, logging, and fault tolerance.

• Contribute to the development of a scalable architecture  by applying industry best practices in system design, ensuring high availability and performance optimization.

Innovation, Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Promote agile practices and software best practices  to support iterative product development and build effective solutions to real-world challenges.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and ideation phases , iterating on ideas and helping shape early-stage products by rapidly building Proofs of Concepts (POCs) in a lean and efficient manner with minimal resources and time.

• Work closely with other engineers  in the team to ensure smooth integration between services and user interfaces.

• A generalist mindset , with a willingness to learn across multiple tech stacks and systems.

• Solid backend and frontend exposure. Fluency in Python and a solid understanding of frontend technologies (preferably with ReactJS).

• Experience designing scalable and  reliable APIs and backend systems.

• Hands-on experience with web application development.

• Ability to balance user needs with business goals when developing impactful products.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is beneficial.

• Experience in SaaS environments, particularly B2B SaaS, is a plus.

• Exposure to working with data products and data-centric companies is advantageous.

• This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in Europe.

Our tech stack:

• We are cloud-native company and leverage AWS cloud and its services (e.g. EKS, RDS, S3, etc.).

• Our APIs are historically built with Spring Boot (Kotlin), but we are looking to become Python-first in our tech stack.

• Our data pipelines are orchestrated by Dagster (Python) with data stored in S3 and Postgres, and transformations written using dbt.

• We build data applications in Plotly Dash (Python) and web applications in React.js.

• We deploy our code using CircleCI and Github Actions and use terraform for infrastructure deployment.
