Speech Language Pathologist

Brief Description Speech Language Pathologist Full-Time Iowa Specialty Hospital -Belmond is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our fun, collaborative, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team. This role offers the opportunity to provide both inpatient and outpatient speech therapy services, helping patients of all ages within a supportive rural healthcare environment. The caseload consists predominantly of pediatric patients with speech and language disorders. Adults are also treated for a variety of diagnoses including dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia, cognition and voice. Primary hours are Monday- Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. No holidays. No weekends. Key Responsibilities Uses best practice/evidence-based care to perform assessments and treatments of patients with communication disorders, swallowing disorders (including video fluoroscopy swallow study), and cognitive disorders. Practices patient-centered care by working in partnership and collaboration with team members, patient and families/caregivers. Completes accurate and timely documentation. Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EPIC) system Provides education to those involved in the direct patient care. Demonstrates responsible actions and clinical autonomy through individual professional development and mentorship to support the team’s success in advancing their profession. Promotes successful relationships with referral sources and within the community to enhance strategic growth. Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology Current or eligibility to practice speech language therapy in the State of Iowa Certificate of Clinical Competence Minimum 2-3 years previous experience strongly preferred Desired Qualities: Compassionate and patient-centered approach; Reliable, punctual, and professional; Ability to work with a variety of ages and diagnosis, including autism; Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
